Actinic Keratosis Statistics
Actinic keratosis is a very common skin condition in the elderly in populations that live in a part of the world where sunlight is abundant. In the United States for those over 50, approximately 50% of the population will have developed actinic keratosis at some point. In areas like Australia where the sun is up for longer, the problem is even more widespread.
Those that have a weakened immune system or those who are gravely ill are further at risk of developing growths like actinic keratosis.
